Carol Minerva Ring O'Brien, age 94, of Murfreesboro passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015. She was a native of Raisin City, CA and the daughter of the late Randolph and Carrie Sprinkle Ring. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Marshall Gupton will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. O'Brien is survived by her husband of 68 years, J.M. "Murf" O'Brien, son, James M. O'Brien, III and his wife Beth, granddaughter, Alice Carol O'Brien, all of Murfreesboro and numerous cousins and other loving family members. Mrs. O'Brien was a charter member of Northminster Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed her women's "Circle" and her church family. She attended Fresno State, worked at Bell Telephone Company as an operator and helped her husband with O'Brien's Nursery for many years. Mrs. O'Brien was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. She was a good cook and loved to read. She was very positive and never complained. She lived a good long healthy life and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00pm Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. 615-893-5151.
