Carol Ann Day Hempfner, age 87, passed away Friday, December 8, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Winifred Wulffe Day; and sister, Winifred Myers.

She is survived by her son, Stephen Allen; grandchildren, Stephen Van Earl Allen and Dacota Allen Rossel; seven great grandchildren; and sister, Kim Freeman.

Carol was a graduate of Vanderbilt University where she became a registered nurse. She worked in the children's polio unit and spent several years in Chattanooga, TN at Erlanger Hospital. She was also a manager for Blue Cross Blue Shield and excelled in the medicare and medicaid departments. In the later part of her career, she was a compliance officer for NHC in Murfreesboro, expanding her skills by becoming licensed in two additional states. Mrs. Carol also enjoyed volunteering in the community and especially with her Linebaugh Library friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 22, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Old Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Crossville, TN. Cemetery is directly across the street from Pleasant Hill Baptist Mission Church.
