BURNIS BUCK MEREDITH DOWELL age 83 ascended into Heaven Thursday April 30,2009 at Alvin C. York Medical Center in Murfreesboro, Tn. Mr. Dowell was born in Utica, MO September 29,1925. He was the son of the late Burnis and Blanche Augusta Dowell. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Dona of Murfreesboro, daughters Belinda (Nick) Barone of Murfreesboro, Augusta (Gary) Barnes of KS., Billie Jean Howard of KY., sons Bryan (Mary) Dowell of Murfreesboro, Albert Al (Debbie) Dowell of KY, Stacey Dowell of KY, 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He is preceded by one grandson Jason Dowell. Mr. Dowell resided in Calvert City for 56 years, before moving back to Utica, MO making a full circle. He has resided in Murfreesboro, Tennessee for the last year. He worked 20 years each at Carbide and GAF. He served in World War II, PTA President, a magistrate; he coached baseball and played for the American Legion. He loved his Savior, his family, youth, and community of Calvert City, KY. He was a member of the Utica Baptist Church. He will be deeply missed. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday with funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Lynn McWherter officiating.
