Buford "Don" Ellis, age 78 passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Maybelle Ellis; and sister, Patsy Vanderpool.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Ellis; son, Michael Ellis and his wife Annette; daughter, Tonya Pope and her husband Kevin; grandchildren, Jessica Bryan (Derrick), Kayla Ellis, Madison Ellis, Morgan Ellis; great grandchildren, Rhett Bryan and Brooklyn; sisters, Kay Stephens, Jeannie Stephens, and Darlene Ellis.

Don was a retired respiratory therapist of over 50 years. He loved cars, racing and his family. He was a hard working, generous man with a big heart and always wanted others to know, "Real trucks don't wear bowties." He will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with a funeral service following at 6:00 PM.
