BRUCIE ODOM THOMAS age 86 of Murfreesboro, TN, went home to be with her Heavenly Father, Friday June 10, 2011. A native of Niota, TN, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Beulah Smith Odom. She was married to the late William Frederick Fred Thomas who died in 2003. Mrs. Thomas is survived by her son, William Steve Thomas and his wife Dianne Lamb; brother, John Odom and his wife Florence; grandchildren, Wesley Lamb, Ashley Lamb Ernst and her husband Austin; great grandchildren, Jackson McAlpin and Noah Ernst all of Murfreesboro, TN. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM with funeral service at 5:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, and visitation Monday from 1:30 to 2:30 PM EST Monday at Murrays Baptist Church in Sweetwater, TN with funeral service at 2:30 PM EST with Rev. Jerry Howard officiating, Burial will follow in Murrays Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Thomas was member of Mt. Hermon Baptist. She was a homemaker and worked at MTSU Bookstore for 16 years. Mrs. Thomas loved her Lord and was an avid gardener. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Youth Missions Group or the Senior Adults at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Thomas.
