BRENT WENDELL BENEFIELD age 51 of Murfreesboro, died Saturday October 2, 2010 at his residence. A native of Lawrence County, he is preceded in death by his mother Alean Gladney Benefield and a brother Butch Benefield. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Brothers Bob Niles, David Martin and Joe Elliott will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Benefield is survived by his wife of 25 years Cheryl Hilliard Benefield, son Tyler Benefield, daughter Brittany Benefield all of Murfreesboro, Father Dwight Benefield, brother Benjie (Robin) Benefield of Murfreesboro, Father and mother in law Johnny (Patsy) Hilliard of Murfreesboro, Brother in law Terry (Mary Jo) Hilliard of KY., Curt (Amy) Hilliard of Murfreesboro, and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Mr. Benefield was a Volunteer firefighter with the Walter Hill Fire Department and was named firefighter of the year in 1998. He was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church.
