Mrs. Brenda Kay Barnes Boggess, age 69, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Friday, March 2, 2018. She was a native of Murfreesboro and daughter of the late Falkner and Hazel Davenport Barnes. Mrs. Boggess earned her B.S. in Education from Middle Tennessee State University. She then worked for Rutherford County Schools for ten years, five in the classroom and five with homebound students. Since that time, Mrs. Boggess has enjoyed being retired, traveling, and spending time with her family and dog, Elwood. She was a long-time member of Belle Aire Baptist Church and member of the choir.

Mrs. Boggess was affectionately known as "Bebe" by her grandchildren and is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jimmy Boggess; daughter, Jessica Boggess Florida and her husband Brent; son, Jake Victor Boggess; and two grandchildren, Anne Marie Florida and Thomas Florida all of Murfreesboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Barnes Boggess.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 3:00pm until 6:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11:00am at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Bro. Dean Sisk will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
