BILLY GENE HERROD age, 78 of Murfreesboro, died Monday March 1, 2010. A native of Murfreesboro, TN, he was the son of the late William and Esther Harrell Herrod. Mr. Herrod is survived by his wife, Georgia Speck Herrod; daughter and son in law, Terri and Tony Rollins of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Alexandra Small and Will Rollins both of Murfreesboro, TN; sisters, Wilma Jones of Murfreesboro, TN and Frances Taylor of Chattanooga, TN. Mr. Herrod was also preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Russell. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bob Bush officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Herrod was a member of the Baptist Church, a US Air Force veteran having served in Korea, and was owner and operator of Herrod Excavating.
