Billy Glenn Alexander, Lt. Col. Retired USAF, died Friday, January 27, 2012. He was a native of Athens, AL and son of the late William L. and Velma Alexander. Funeral service will be 10:30am Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Ken Polk will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife, Elease Wyatt Alexander, son, Michael G. Alexander and his wife Mary of Carrollton, VA, daughters, Jan Wiser and her husband Max of Murfreesboro, and Teri Vannatta and her husband Tracy of Deason, 21 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Wynell Kelley Alexander who died in 1995, three brothers, Clement, Judson, and Artemus Alexander, sisters, Ruth Jones, and Irma Springer. Lt. Colonel Alexander was a pilot in the USAF and retired following 20 years of service. He later retired as plant manager of Perfect Equipment Company. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
