Bettye Jay Brookshire, age 87, of Smyrna, TN passed away July 11, 2012. A native of Ringgold, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.R. and Manilla Holcomb Jay. She is also preceded in death by her husband, William Elmo Brookshire, sister, Isabelle Jay and son-in-law, Talton Rains. Mrs. Brookshire is survived by her son, Tony Brookshire of Smyrna; and two daughters and son-in-law; Teresa Lynn Rains of Antioch and Vicki and Gary Hall of Woodstock, GA; four grandchildren, Tara (Troy) Hill of Smyrna, Trent Rains of Smyrna, Kelly (Randy) Qualls of Dallas, GA and Chris Hall of Murfreesboro; five great grandchildren and her brother J.R. Jay Jr. of Ringgold, GA. Mrs. Brookshire was a member of the First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro. Trent Rains, Chris Hall, Troy Hill, Randy Qualls, Gary Hall, Dan Piper, and Spencer Hill will serve as pallbearers. A graveside service will be held Friday at 12:00 Noon in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Dr. Eugene Cotey will officiate.
