Mrs. Betty Joan Potts, age 76, of Smyrna, TN passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018. She was born in Rutherford County, TN to the late William and Lorene Harold Ryan. Mrs. Potts was a certified nursing assistant at the VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro and faithfully attended Holy Resurrection Celtic Church.

Mrs. Potts is survived by her husband of 57 years, Rufus Potts; four children, Michael Potts and his wife Karen of Coats, NC, Valerie Trathen and her husband Daniel, Timothy Potts, and Mark Potts all of Smyrna; sister, Lois Jean Jones of Murfreesboro, TN; faithful canine companions, Sam and Emma; and Baby Cat.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 2, 2018 at 1:00pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Bishop Timothy Potts will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
