Betty Jean Porter Nock , age 86 of Smyrna, TN, passed away peacefully Saturday May 6, 2017. A native of Tarentum, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Alvin and Edna Viola Stiller Porter. Mrs. Nock was also preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Ann Nock Adcock, granddaughter, Skylar Nicole Nock, brother, Verne E. Porter, and sisters, Almyrta Porter Kuhn and Eileen Porter Negley.

Mrs. Nock is survived by her husband of 65 years, Joseph "Joe" A. Nock; son, Brian Nock and his wife Janet of Franklin, TN; daughter, Donna Nellums Kumar of Smyrna, TN; son-in-law, Jeff Adcock of Smyrna, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Abiding Faith Lutheran Church, 10411 Old Nashville Hwy. Smyrna, TN, with Pastor Keith Schleis officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the 11:00 AM service at the church. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Nock was a charter member of the Abiding Faith Lutheran Church and a retired Accountant.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Abiding Faith Lutheran Church in memory of Mrs. Nock.
