Betty J. Morton, age 80, of Smyrna, TN, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014. A native of Cohutta, GA she was preceded in death by her parents, Dewitt and Lucille McNabb Hamilton; her first husband, William T. Morton; her son, William "Mike" Morton; and ten brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00AM at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Dr. Lenny Farmer will officiate. A graveside service will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville at 1:00PM. Mrs. Morton is survived by her husband, Fred Koch; daughter, Barbara Jean Hatfield and her husband Keith of Smyrna; and two sisters, Patsy Weber and Ann Blevins both of Cohutta, GA; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Morton was a member of Life Point Church in Smyrna. She loved to laugh and was an avid bargain shopper. Memorials can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.
