Betty L. Mather, age 88, formerly of Murfreesboro died Friday morning at The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Hixson, TN. She was a native of Mt. Vernon, MO and a daughter of the late Wilburn and Corda Shipley Mieswinkel. She was preceded by her husband James Mather in 1999 and two sisters Hilda Ricketts and Mary Miller. Survivors include her children, Patty Eiselstein and her husband Tom of Hixson, Robert Mather of Franklin and Greg Mather and his wife Ann of Christiana; grandchildren, Michael Eiselstein and his wife Lori of Hixson, Brian Eiselstein and his fiancé Patty Kuehner of Kingsport, Kristen Jones and her husband Ashley of Hixson, Lindsay Franklin and her husband Nick of Christiana, and Kevin Mather of Maryville; eight great-grandchildren Brendan, Meagan, Sarah, Ryan, Cooper, Carter, Nella, and Chloe Ann. Mrs. Mather was a longtime member of Third Baptist Church and retired as a Human Resources Manager for Paramount Packaging. She was named ABWA Woman of the Year in 1971. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00am until 12:00 noon at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 12:30pm in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Bro. Steve Hutson officiating.
