BETTY JEAN BELLAMY, age 88 of Murfreesboro passed away on Friday December 17, 2010 in Gainesville, Fl. of complications from Parkinsons disease. She was preceded in death by her husband James Edward Ed Bellamy and one brother, Bill Francisco. Mrs. Bellamy is survived by a son James Edward Bellamy II and wife Janice of Murfreesboro, and a daughter, Diana Scott and husband Casey of Gainesville FL; two sisters, Esther Langelier, of Watseka, IL and Barbara Nosker of Steger, IL and one brother Richard Francisco and wife Shirley of Houston, TX. She has 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Betty was born to the late William and Mabel Wiley Francisco of Gilman City, IL. She moved to Murfreesboro with her husband Ed in 1955 with the first industry to come to Murfreesboro, know to the family as The Box Plant . After a few years the plant moved back to IL, but the Bellamys stayed in Murfreesboro. Ed and Betty teamed up with their dear friends Mike and Martha Meeks to build the Murfreesboro Bowling Lanes which is still in existence today. Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Oakland Historical Society and the Garden Club. She was a homemaker and loving wife and mother. She was also an avid painter. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday at 1:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2:00PM at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. John A. Hinkle officiating.
