Bessie L. OKieff Thomas Brewer, age 92 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Friday November 25, 2011. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Ola Spray OKieff. Mrs. Brewer was also preceded in death by her husbands, Howard Thomas and Aubrey M. Brewer and by brother, Raymond OKieff, and sisters, Thelma Oldham, Margaret Basham, and Sara Sauls. Mrs. Brewer is survived by daughter, Becky Shelton of Murfreesboro, TN; extended family, Joyce and Bobby Dutton of Auburntown, TN, Tim and Vicki Dutton, Nicole and Chad Montgomery, Mary Claire Dutton, Garland, Gates, Gray and Gwyneth Montgomery. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charles McKnight officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with nephews and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl West and Vernon Edmonds. Mrs. Brewer attended Mt. Hermon and Immanuel Baptist Churches and was a homemaker. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 noon until time of service at WOODFIN FUNERAL CHAPEL, MURFREESBORO, TN. 893-5151.
