Bernice Cherry Patton Iles , age 91, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017. A native of Nashville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Ross M. and Selina Boyd Cherry. Mrs. Iles was also preceded in death by her husbands; William Hall Patton and Virgil L. Iles; brother, Ross Boyd Cherry, and her sister, Selina "Dollie" Parsons Smith.

Mrs. Iles is survived by her son, Ted Patton of Madison, TN; daughter, Bonnie (Jim) Ward of Murfreesboro, TN; step-son, Roger (Gail) Iles of Memphis, TN; six grandchildren, Chad, Jeremy, and Matthew Patton, Abby (Jordan) Pollock, Emily (Jacob) Stout, and Gwen Iles; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in Woodlawn Memorial Park with Dr. Jim Clardy officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park with Chad and Jeremy Patton, Jake and Adam Durham, Jacob Stout, and Jordan Pollock serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary and Bobby Patton.

Mrs. Iles grew up in Middle Tennessee, graduating from Issac Litton High School in 1944. She married William Hall Patton March 29, 1946. After working with Chance Reality Company, she worked for Genesco, retiring with 30 years of service. Mrs. Iles home church was City Road Methodist in Madison, TN, and later attended Trinity United Methodist Church. She had many wonderful years living at Stones River Manor, where she met and married Virgil L. Iles on June 12, 1993. She spent her last years at Community Care of Rutherford County.
