Bernard Richard Lee Reid, age 83, of Smyrna, TN passed away peacefully at his home on March 29 ^th , 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born on July 27 ^th , 1939 to parents Bernard and Alive Reid in Mt. Clemens, MI.

Bernard is survived by his children, Michelle Sherwood-Smith, Craig Sherwood; grandchildren, Greg Sherwood, Chris Sherwood, David Denton, Casey Denton; and great grandchildren, Kit, Jay, Maggie, Hayden, Addy, Kaiser, Gavin, Piper and Sebastian. He is preceded by his parents, Bernard and Alice Reid, and his wife Margie Lannon Reid.

Bernard worked as a assistant personnel officer for the VA of Nashville and Murfreesboro, TN. He was an honorable member of the Marine Corps, and was overall a generous, kindhearted, and prepared gentleman. He raised his children well and was very close to his grandchildren.

Bernard will be buried in Beech Springs Cemetery in Gleason, TN at a later date.
