Obituary

JAMES BENNETT HAYNES, age 87, of Murfreesboro passed away July 2, 2009 at Sunnington Assisted Living. He was a native of Moline, IA. He spent most of his life in Moberly, MO, and moved to Murfreesboro in 2006. He was a retired Manufacturers Representative and served in the Merchant Marines from 1942 until 1946. Mr. Haynes was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Haynes and Pauline Creed and a sister, Frances Waid. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Shirley Stephens Haynes. Four daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Robert Yowell of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Cheri and Rob Vance of Sarasota, FL, Kris and Don Giordano of Lakeland, FL, and Stephenie and Paul Shaver of Murfreesboro, 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. July 11, 2009 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Chaplain John R. Booth U.S.A.F. (Retired) will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial and memorial services will be held in Moberly, MO at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association in care of Sunnington Assisted Living at 1658 Lascassas Pike, Murfreesboro, Tennessee 37130.
