Barbara Ann Bond Fox Powell, age 69, of Christiana, TN passed away on December 30, 2011. She is a native of Lascassas, and the daughter of the late Harry C. and Mary Weatherly Bond. She was also preceded in death by her first husband of 45 years Russell Fox who died in 2004 and her brother Harry C. Junior Bond Jr. Barbara will be greatly missed by her children, Debbie (Larry) Willeford, Melanie Fox Jones-Escoto, Cindy (Wylder) Posey, and John Russell Fox Jr.; grandchildren, Landon (Nancy) Haynes, Mary Willeford, Spencer Jones, Schyler Jones, Wyatt Posey, and Sara Posey all of Murfreesboro; great-granddaughter, Taylor Haynes. She is also survived by her husband, David Bud Powell; One sister, Bonnie Gayle (Jackie) Davis of Christiana . Step-children, Teresa (Clark) Miller, Susan (Jackie) Steele, David (Penny) Powell, and Jenny (Jeff) Walden, and 10 step-grandchildren and 7 great step-grandchildren. Barbara was beloved by all that knew her and was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend. She was a woman of grace, compassion, humor, and love. Barbara enjoyed time with her family most of all and was a proud and doting grandmother. She loved to travel and has visited almost every state in the nation including Alaska and Hawaii, and had traveled to Canada, Mexico, Panama, Honduras, the Caribbean, Japan, and several European countries. Barbara attended Lasscassas High School. She was a member of Short Creek Baptist Church for more than 30 years and assumed a variety of positions with the church including pianist, treasurer, and secretary. Barbara was also a business woman having worked at Fox Brothers Electric for more than 40 years and serving as the owner of the business for the past 8 years. Her presence and guidance will be missed by her business associates and employees. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday January 1, 2012 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday January 2, 2012 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial at Millersburg Cemetery in Christiana, Tennessee. Brother Murray Mathis will officiate.
