Barbara Ann McDaniel, age 86, of Murfreesboro, TN, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 2, 2017. A native of Watertown, TN, she was the daughter of the late John Glenn and Sara Elizabeth Forbes Wood.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Brother John Risse and Brother Jeff Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Donald "Don" R. McDaniel; children, Donald Andrew "Andy" McDaniel of Murfreesboro, Mark Steven McDaniel and his wife Kim of Eads, TN, and LaDonna Merville and her husband Ron of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Sara Elizabeth Whitten and her husband Rusty, Mark Steven McDaniel Jr. and his wife Hannah, John Cameron McDaniel, Alexandra Gabrielle McDaniel, and Madeleine Grace Merville; sister, Jannine Cross of Johnson City, TN; brother, Jack Wood and his wife Barbara of Centerville, TN; along with many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. McDaniel was a member of Kingwood Church of Christ and formerly a member of North Boulevard Church of Christ. She was a retired Kindergarten Teacher with the Murfreesboro City Schools. Mrs. McDaniel was recognized as a distinguished classroom teacher and served as President of the Murfreesboro Education Association during her tenure.

Don Gilbert, Eric Gilbert, Mike Gilbert, Jeff Caplenor, Jere Caplenor, Kevin Waldron, Mark McDaniel Jr. and John McDaniel will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials in memory of Mrs. McDaniel can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. all at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
