Barbara Ann George Alexander, age 76 of Murfreesboro died Friday January 22, 2016. She was a native of Rutherford County and was the daughter of the late, Robert and Betty Irene Brown George, and was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby George. Mrs. Alexander was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was co-owner of Alexander's Market and retired from Community Care of Rutherford County.

Mrs. Alexander is survived by her husband of 51years, Doss Alexander; daughter, Jennie Howse and husband Rick; sons, Arthur "Bodie" Pitts, Jr. and wife Cassie of Murfreesboro, Mike Alexander of Christiana; sister, Carolyn Moore and husband Howard of Murfreesboro; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2:00PM Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Howard Hewgley will officiate. Visitation will be after 12Noon Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
