Arthur Aycrigg Robbins, age 92 of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, died Friday, December 14, 2018. He was a native of Stamford, Connecticut and a son of the late Lee Roy and Jeanie Robbins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Beals Robbins in 2004 and a son, James Robbins.
Survivors include daughters, Nancy Wight and husband David of Murfreesboro and Joan Robbins of Broad Brook, CT; sons, Richard Robbins and wife Joanne of Buckeye, AZ and Thomas Robbins of Fayetteville, AR; grandchildren, Laura Wight, Brian Wight and wife Marbell, Shannon Sheehan and husband Ryan; great grandchildren, Luke Sheehan, Zoey Sheehan, and Matthew Wight; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Mr. Robbins served as a sergeant with the 145th Army Airways Communications System Squadron from August 1944 until August 1946. He received the American Campaign Metal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Metal, Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a graduate of the Hartt School of Music and retired from Pratt and Whitney as an engineer after thirty years of service.
