ARLENE E. WARNER, age 89, of Murfreesboro, Tn. died Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She was born in Wauseon, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Wilbur & Louise Steinbrecher Short. She is survived by her sons, John Lockwood Warner, Jr. and his wife Lelia of Union City, Tn. ; Barton Wayne Warner and his wife Lucy of Murfreesboro; daughter, Beth Louise Warner Sinclair and her husband Dan of Murfreesboro; sisters, Mary (Tom) Porter, Marion, Ohio; Elizabeth Steele, Mesa, Arizona; Jeanette (Hugo) Malo, Mechanicsburg, Ohio; eight grandchildren, John (Mellany) Lockwood Warner, III, William (Tiffani) Warner, Lindsey (Brian) Warner Robertson, Samuel (Janece) Warner, Margaret (Jon) Warner McKee, Kathryn (George) Sinclair Moisant, Daniel (Amy) Sinclair, Jr. and Patrick Sinclair and twelve great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be after 3 pm Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with funeral services to follow at 6 pm with Rev. Tommy Perkins officiating. She will be taken to White Ransom Funeral Home in Union City where visitation will be after 1:00 pm Friday with graveside services at 3:30 pm in the East View Cemetery, Union City, Tn. Mrs. Warner was married for 57 years to the late John Lockwood Warner, Sr. and was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbur Wayne Short and Robert Rollin Short. For the past ten years, Mrs. Warner had lived in Murfreesboro where she was an active member of the Ann Huggins Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church. Her five grandsons, the husbands of her three granddaughters and three of her great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
