VELMA ARLENE CORBIN BROTHERS, age 82 of Murfreesboro, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at St. Thomas Hospital. She was a native of Adair County, KY and the daughter of the late Willie Ewing and Hallie Bottoms Corbin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd C. Brothers who died in 1994 and her sister, Imogene Corbin. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Phillip Robinson and Rev. Bobby Maxwell will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Dan) Alsup of the Midland Community, Patricia Newcomb of Murfreesboro, two brothers, Paul (Edna) Corbin of Bowling Green, KY, Travis (Glenna) Corbin of Knifley, KY, two grandchildren, Danny Alsup of the Midland Community, Chad Newcomb of Murfreesboro, two great grandchildren, Daniel Alsup of Midland Community and Jessica Alsup of Murfreesboro. Mrs. Brothers was a member of New Vision Baptist Church and retired from General Electric. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
