Arieanna Glennon, age 82, passed away suddenly on October 19, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on September 27, 1944, Arieanna grew up in North Nashville, where she made many wonderful lifelong friends. It was at Elizabeth Park where she met her husband Robert "Bob" Glennon, with whom she shared several motorcycle rides, a few harrowing adventures, and a lifetime of love and devotion.
Upon her retirement, Arieanna fostered a profound passion for quilting. She spent countless hours stitching together fabric and friendships, creating many beautiful quilts and always inviting visitors to "Come see what I'm working on" in her quilting room; her creativity, patience, and warm spirit reflected in every piece she made.
Arieanna was a cat-whisperer to many feline companions, some that may have sought her out just to be loved by her. She was also a bird advocate (two loves that sometimes conflicted), but her greatest joy was her family. Her favorite place was wherever they were all together, be it an impromptu Sunday dinner, toes in the sand at the beach, or coffee on the deck in the mountains - delivering the occasional quick wit and contagious laugh. She was an avid reader who instilled the same love of books in her daughters. She was a voice of gentle wisdom to immediate and extended family and friends.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Bob Glennon; her devoted daughters, Robin Glennon and Terry Glennon Roney; her cherished songbird, granddaughter Ashley Caldwell Hughes, and her favorite, grandson-in-law Mathew Hughes. Her legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to live on through them and the countless lives she touched.
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, 203 N. Lowry Street, Smyrna, Tennessee. The family will receive friends during visitation from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with a memorial service beginning at 4:00 pm.
