Aretha Bingham, age 81, of Smyrna, died Monday, December 17, 2012. A native of Briceville, TN she was the daughter of the late Will Humphrey and Carrie (Hessler) Humphrey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Bingham, one son, Jerry, and one stepson Randall Thomas. Mrs. Bingham is survived by her daughter, Carol Peek and her husband Alvin of Bethpage, TN; stepson, Marshal Thomas; eight grandchildren, Michelle, Mike, Josh, Amanda, Amanda, Zach, Cindy, and James; and 12 great grandchildren. Mrs. Bingham was of the Baptist faith and was a retired nurse with Clover Bottom Nursing Home. She also had worked for Nashville General Hospital and Baptist Hospital. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Woodfin Funeral Chapel in Smyrna is in charge of the arrangements. 615-459-3254
