Annie L. Thompson, age 77, of Smyrna, went to be with Lord on Thursday, October 12, 2017. A native of Ft. Myers, FL, she was preceded in death by her parents, Bert Lennard and Jeannette Lennard Shear; brothers, Eugene Love, Manuel Giddens, C.D. Giddens; sisters, Mary Burbage, Loretta Marsh, and Gennie Williams.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.  Brother Tony Dye will officiate. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Howard W. Thompson Sr; son, Howard Wesley Thompson Jr. and his wife Cindy; grandchildren, Howard Wesley Thompson III, Ashley Anne Thompson, Sadie Michelle Thompson, and Natalie Nichole Thompson; sisters, Bertie Higdon, Barbara Greer, and Charlotte Martin; brother, James Lennard; along with many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Thompson was a member of both LifePoint Church and the Mission Church of Christ in Smyrna. She worked many years in the lunch room at Smyrna Primary and at Co-Op in LaVergne where she was always well recognized. She also coached in the Smyrna Softball League and for the Co-Op Softball League for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials in memory of Mrs. Thompson can be made to the Nashville Rescue Mission.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.
