ANNIE LOU LEATHERS THOMAS age 82 of Rockvale, TN, died Wednesday January 12, 2011. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late John Bell and Mary Dyer Leathers. She was also preceded in death by her husband Clarence Loton Thomas who died in 1982, by a daughter, Mary Sue Hitner, brothers, John Lee, and Leslie Leathers, sisters, twin sister Mamie Walls, and May Brady. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Windrow Community Church in Rockvale with Rev. Bobby Black and Rev. Doyle Sadler officiating. Burial will follow in the Windrow Community Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Thomas is survived by sons, Edmond Hill, Gene Thomas and wife Sara, John Henry Thomas and wife Lexine, and Terry Thomas all of Rockvale, TN; sister, Alma Hill of Rockvale, TN; grandchildren, John Thomas, Jr., Edward Hitner, III, Jennifer Hitner, Rachel Thomas and Sasha Thomas; three great grandchildren. Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker and a member of the Windrow Community Church. She loved her children, they were her whole life. She loved to plant a garden and put food up for winter. She always wanted to have her children together at her home for get-togethers. She always had a big smile, laughing with every minute. Mrs. Thomas would sit on the front porch everyday, so she could wave at everyone. She was a very sweet and loving person.
