Annie Mae "Tiny" Dunnaway Mahaffey, age 85 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Friday December 27, 2013. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Hobart Garrett and Bessie Mae Shipp Dunnaway. Mrs. Mahaffey was also preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Brown Mahaffey, a daughter, Virginia Lee Mahaffey, granddaughters, Annie Ophelia Mahaffey and Renee Mahaffey Peach, sister, Polly Lloyd and brothers, Bud and Dock Dunnaway. Mrs. Mahaffey is survived by her daughter, Betty Mahaffey Hoover and her husband James David Hoover of Murfreesboro, TN; sons, Ray Donald Mahaffey of Murfreesboro, TN, and Gary Wayne Mahaffey and his wife Pam Mahaffey of Woodbury, TN; sister, Sara Elizabeth Neal of Smyrna, TN; grandchildren, Glenn Hoover, Gayle Hoover Wright, Donald Ray Mahaffey, Gary Wayne Mahaffey, Jr.; one step-grandchild, Kyle Merritt; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Eddie Taylor and Nathan Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Coleman Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Mahaffey was a member of Bethlehem Church of Christ and was retired from Ole Taylor's Candy Kitchen. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at WOODFIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL. 893-5151.
