Annie Audrey Cantrell, age 88, of Smyrna passed peacefully to her Savior on Monday, September 28. A native of Smyrna, she was the daughter of the late Marion Nelson Mullins and Leola Sullivan Mullins. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 27 years, Leonard Frank Cantrell and her four brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Cantrell is survived by her children Jack Cantrell and wife Gerry, Diane Jones and her husband Robert, and Mark Cantrell and his wife Laurie; grandchildren Jason, Melissa, Jon, Amy, Greg, Carolyn, Rachel, and Katie; and great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Kelsey, Tyler, Adyson, Jayden, Matthew, Abi Kate, Abram, and Lyla June. Mrs. Cantrell was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church LaVergne for 30 years, where she and Mr. Cantrell served and where she taught Sunday School. She was also an active member at Miracle Baptist Church in later years and was currently serving at Parkway Baptist Church. Prior to health challenges, Mrs. Cantrell was an active participant at the LaVergne Senior Center. She loved music, was quite the dancer in her younger years, and especially enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Her dream as a young woman was to have a successful marriage and a family of her own. She achieved both and passed surrounded by her family who cherished her greatly. She will be missed by them and by her many friends. Visitation will be held from 4-8pm Wednesday September 30 at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Thursday October 1 at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. She will be laid to rest following the services at Maple View Cemetery in Smyrna alongside her husband.
