Anne Harlan McKinney died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer spanning 10 years. She was preceded in death by her parents William E. and Lulu Foust Harlan and a sister Mary Harlan McClain. Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Don McKinney and sons, Matthew S. McKinney and his wife Joyce and W. Zack McKinney; sisters Kay Harlan Webb and her husband Bill, Harryette Harlan Huffstutter and her husband Dan, Laura Harlan Harpel and her husband Phil; an adoring granddaughter Amelia McKinney and many nieces and nephews. Anne was a loving mother, wife, daughter, and sister as well as a gifted painter and potter. In 1980 she founded Sugarplum Confections and ran that business successfully for 25 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Murfreesboro and the Cumberland Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution where she served as Regent. A service celebrating Anne's life will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 22, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church, 210 N. Spring St. Murfreesboro, TN 37130. Visitation will be at the church two hours prior to services.
