Anne Hammond Dement, age 86, of Shelbyville, TN, passed away, Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Alive Hospice.

Anne was born October 31, 1935, in Memphis, TN. She served Peabody College, Vanderbilt University and Hospital for 62 years as their telephone operator. Anne was very proud of her service and time at Vanderbilt and witnessed all the changes to the Nashville and Vanderbilt scene.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Cyrus Bryan Dement and Reeve Spring Dement; her brother, Cyrus Bryan Dement, Jr., and her niece Nicole Spring Dement Porter.

Anne is survived by her nieces, Annette Dement Williams, Melanie Lynn Dement Ciatti and Elizabeth Ann Smith; her nephew Cyrus Bryan Dement, III; sister-in-law, Nancy L. Dement and many long time, close friends.

According to Anne's wishes there will be no services. Family and friends will gather at a later date to celebrate her life.

Memorials made be made to the Shelbyville-Bedford County Library in memory of Anne.
