Anna Barker Whitehead, age 89, of Lebanon, TN, died Thursday December 19, 2013. A native of Axton, VA, she was the daughter of the late Oscar F. and Elsie C. Burnette Barker. She was also preceded in death by seven siblings, son-in-law, Aaron Keen, and a great-granddaughter, Ella Faith Saunders. Mrs. Whitehead is survived by her daughter, Debbie W. Keen of Lebanon, TN; sons, David Allen Whitehead and his wife Cathy of Huntsville, AL, and Douglas Wayne Whitehead of Lebanon, TN; brothers, Robert and Boyd Barker both of Axton, VA; sister, Viola Compton of Martinsville, VA; grandchildren, Beth Saunders of Murfreesboro, TN, Sarah W. Perry of Huntsville, AL, Betsy Smith of Birmingham, AL, and Brian Whitehead of Virginia; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Whitehead retired as a private duty nurse, and was also a member of the Baptist Church. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Dan Milliken officiating.
