Amanda Boone Ridley McKinstry, 54, died Monday at home, surrounded by family, after a brief battle with cancer.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Bromfield Lewis and Lillian Porter Boone Ridley, as well as great niece Hattie Arizona Ramsey.  She is survived by her husband Thomas W. McKinstry of Murfreesboro, daughter Sarah Ridley Shetler of Virginia Beach, VA, sons Samuel James and Thomas Edwards McKinstry of Murfreesboro, sisters and brothers-in-law Mary Wells and John Ramsey, VA, Susan and Michael Snyder, VA, Sarah Brent Ridley of Elkton, KY and her adored grandson Leyland David Rupert, as well as four nieces and nephews, John Blair, Susan, Brom and Julia..

Raised in Cookeville, TN, Amanda graduated from PCSHS and The University of Tennessee. Residing in Murfreesboro, TN for the last 19 years, her life was dedicated to raising her children. Amanda was an ardent supporter of local volunteer fire departments and was actively involved in numerous projects, including animal rescue, Dress a Girl Around the World, Thousandsticks VFD in Hyden, KY, and the Oakland HS Parent Association and Baseball Booster Club.
