Alvin Jackson
Ralston, Jr.
January 5, 1938 – March 18, 2017
Alvin Jackson "Jack" Ralston, Jr. went home to be with His Savior, Jesus Christ on March 18, 2017, after a long hard battle with cancer with his family by his side.
Jack was born at home in Eagleville, TN to Alvin and Katherine Ralston on January 5, 1938. He came onto this world big and left even bigger. He grew up in the Patterson Community near Franklin, TN and graduated from Eagle High School in 1957.
At the age of 19, Jack went to work with State Farm Insurance in Murfreesboro, TN. starting as a File Clerk and moving up to Team Manager. Jack retired at the age of 62 after working with State Farm for nearly 44 years. Jack had earned his CPCU designation, LOMA, Associate Law Degree, AIC designation while working with State Farm. He worked in Tennessee, LA, MS, Arkansas and Alabama. He admired and respected his State Farm Family and had the amazing ability to remember every place, person and insurance law of each state.
Jack Ralston is survived by his wife of 57 years Barbara Jacobs Ralston; his son Alvin J Ralston, III "Jacky", his wife Patricia Eileen Ralston "Leenie" and their children Jessica, Al and Caleb and their grandchildren Addison and Grayson; his daughter Alicia Dawn Johnston, her husband, James J. Johnston and their children James Thurman "JT", Alexandra "Alex" and Jami; his mother, Katherine Yeargan; his siblings Annette Chick, Peggy Burks, Ronald Ralston and David Ralston.
He is preceded in death by his father, Alvin Jackson Ralston; stepfather Thomas Patterson; grandparents, GC and Mae Ralston and Lynn and Mary Redmon.
Jack loved his Savior first and then his family with all his heart. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his greatest love and delight.
Jack had the presence to fill a room, never met a stranger, and had a zest for life that would make everyone smile. He gave God all the glory for all that he accomplished, and all that the Lord had blessed him with. The family can just see Jesus wrapping his arms and around him, welcoming him home and saying Jack, "You have fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith", now you are Home."
