Lawrence, Catherine Alice Catherine Brown Lawrence, age 85, of Murfreesboro, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 10, 2009, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She was a native of Rutherford County and a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church in the Big Springs Community. Catherine joyfully served the children and faculty of Buchanan Elementary School as food services manager prior to her retirement. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents Allie and Altie Orren Brown, her brother Cliff Brown, and her husband Lonnie Lawrence, Jr. She is survived, fondly remembered, and will be greatly missed by her brother Sam Brown; her sister Allie Mae Frizzell; her loving children Steve (Marjory) of Brentwood, Janis (Earl) Pope of Florida, David (Pennie) of South Carolina, Reta (Claude) King of Murfreesboro, and Renee (Brad) King of Eagleville; eleven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. A memorial service for Catherine will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, 1488 Lascassas Pike, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, with Claude King and Pastor David Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
