Alf Taylor, Jr. age 83 died June 26, 2015. Mr. Taylor was a native of Rockvale and son of the late Alf Taylor, Sr. and Alta Blanton Taylor. He was preceded in death by his wife Bessie Hudson Taylor; sisters, Bonnie Taylor Ownby and Josephine Taylor Crockett. Mr. Taylor is survived by two sons, Alf "Butch" Taylor, III of Murfreesboro, James Edward Taylor and wife Darlene of Big Sandy, Texas; daughter, Pam Thomas and husband Bruce of Dallas, Texas; brother, Walter Taylor and wife Patsy of Murfreesboro; sisters, Jean Taylor Burns of Rockvale, Peggy Taylor McPeak of Murfreesboro, Judy Leah Taylor of Christiana; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be Monday at 1:00PM at Evergreen Cemetery. Rev. Morgan Davis will officiate. Visitation will be 3:00PM to 7:00PM Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mr. Taylor was a 1949 graduate of Rockvale High School. He was a life member of Rockvale Masonic Lodge 413 and member of Rutherford County Baseball Hall of Fame. Mr. Taylor was retired from Bellsouth and a veteran of United States Air Force. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of AdamsPlace.
