Aleta Maie Simmons went home Friday, February 7 ^th , 2020. Aleta was born April 25 ^th , 1929 to the late Edward and Pearl Carter. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two children, Dianne Reed and Melanie Simmons; a brother; and a sister.

She is survived by two daughters, Cathey Pressley of Manchester and Sharon Greenfield of Murfreesboro; 7 grandchildren, Amber Greenfield, Joshua Greenfield, Mandy Pressley, Dustin Pressley, Cindy Ford (Jason), Jason Reed (Tracey), Stephen Reed; 13 great-grandchildren, Zachary Greenfield, Dylan Spry, Maycee Spry, RoseZada Spry, Jayden Pressley, James Pressley, Trevor Ford (Kendell), Hunter Ford, Kylee Ford, Krista Ford, Carolee Jordan (Zack), James Robert Reed, Luke Reed; a sister Janice Allen of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She faithfully attended church, where she praised the Lord with her voice, until she was no longer able. She loved bird watching, gardening (especially her flowers), she made quilts for her whole family and she loved to cook. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful role model to her whole family and will be greatly missed.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
