ALENE (DEAN) McRAE TOOMBS age 89 of Arrington, died Sunday January 3, 2010. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Byrd and Mary Smythia. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna, with Frank Lipetri officiating. Burial will follow in the Nolensville Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Toombs was survived by her Daughter Annette (Bobby) Morton of Smyrna, Son Paul (Patsy) Toombs of Christiana, Sister Madie Wilson of Almaville, seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Toombs, Pete and Rose Elliott the couple who raised Mrs. Toombs, Sisters Ruby Temple, Martha Byrd, Son Miley Edward Toombs and Grandson Jesse Robert Morton.
