Alan Reno Stem, Sr. age 67 of Lascassas passed away Saturday February 28, 2015. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Willie Grey and Elsie Mae Gannon Stem. Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Norris officiating. Burial will follow in Whitworth Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers. Mr. Stem is survived by his wife of 37 years; Cathy Stem, daughters; Amber Rich of Lascassas, Jackie Montgomery and her husband John of Murfreesboro, son; Alan Reno Stem, Jr., of Phoenix, Arizona, three grandchildren; Zachary Montgomery, Zoe Montgomery and Jordan Maxwell. He is also survived by his brother; K. Randall Stem and his wife Kathy of Murfreesboro, sisters; Gayle Emery and her husband George of Beech Grove and Kaye Weed of Murfreesboro. Mr. Stem was a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church. He loved golf and was a car enthusiast who built custom cars. He loved taking trips with the family to the beach and Gatlinburg. He treasured his time with his grandchildren. Visitation will be 4:00pm until 8:00pm Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
