Alan Norman Shind, age 68, of Smyrna, Tennessee, formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, died on Monday. He was born in Malden, Massachusetts, and grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Shind was a retired bank president and Martial Arts Grandmaster. He was preceded in death by his mother, June M. Shind. He is survived by his son, Brian S. Shind and wife, Joy, of Smyrna, and his grandchildren Samuel, Benjamin, Lily and J.J; father, Irving Shind of Lantana, Florida, sister, Marlene E. Shind of Delray Beach, Florida, brother, Laurence D. Shind and wife, Abbie Goodman, and niece, Mira, of Wellesley, Massachusetts. A memorial service and celebration of Mr. Shind's life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. and on Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Grandma's House Bed and Breakfast, 218 Valley Court, Smyrna, TN.
