Al Martin, age 72, of Smyrna, TN passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012. A native of Athens, Ohio he was the son of the late Luster Vernon and Velma Alexander Martin. He is also preceded in death by his son, Michael Alfred Martin. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00PM at Woodfin Funeral Chapel. Brother Tim Lavender and Brother David Young will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Martin is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Janis Trail Martin; daughter and son-in-law, Tori and Brad Cliff of Nashville, TN; sons and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Kathie of La Grange, GA and David Scott Martin of Smyrna, TN; six grandchildren, Jessica Martin, Blake Wolf, Brittney and Matt Brothers, Kalis Cliff, Amiriyah Cliff, and Zhanae Cliff; and three great-grandchildren, Drake Churchill, Noah Churchill and Wyatt Martin Brothers; two sisters, June Jackson of MI and Dorothy Chandler of MI, and brother, Thomas Martin of MI. Mr. Martin was a member of Smyrna Church of Christ and of North Boulevard Church of Christ. He was a retired area manager of the Dyno Laboratory with Nissan. His hobbies included ham radios, guns and cars. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be from 2:00PM to 8:00PM Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. 893-5151.
