Demumbreum
August 25, 1933 – December 26, 2024
Mr. Alfred "Al" Hall Demumbreum, age 91, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024. He was a native of Rutherford County, TN and son of the late Cleo and Thelma Elizabeth Powell Demumbreum. Mr. Demumbreum retired as a signal supervisor from CSX Railroad after 38 years of service. He purchased a red caboose in the early 1990's and had it placed in his front yard. Mr. Demumbreum was a member of Bellwood Church of Christ and most recently attended Florence Road Church of Christ. He was an active member of Rutherford County Sportsman's Club, the Blackman Community Club, and the Hooper's Supply Boys.
Mr. Demumbreum is survived by his wife, Clara Minor Demumbreum; children, Jim Hall Demumbreum and his wife Sandra, Vincient Lynn Demumbreum and his wife Sherry, and Paula Demumbreum Agee and her husband Michael; grandchildren, Jamie Demumbreum, Jeff Demumbreum, Jennifer Wiggins, Brian Clayton, and Brian Agee; great grandchildren, Gavin, Presleigh, Madelyn, Tristan, Jackson, Peighton, Mason, Saylor, and Julian; and dearest friend, John L. Batey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Lamb Demumbreum, and siblings, George Demumbreum, Noah Demumbreum, and Ethel McCormick.
The family would like to thank the nurses, staff, and caregivers at Creekside at Three Rivers for their compassion and care of Mr. Demumbreum.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 10:00am until 12:00noon at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 12:00noon at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Clardy officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be John L. Batey and Eddie Jernigan.
